ALGIM Cybersecurity Programme

Cybersecurity has never been more important than it is today. The cost of cybercrime in Australia, is in the millions of dollars per quarter. Attacks by cybercriminals involving identity theft, exfiltration of information and extortion using ransomware and other techniques are occurring all around the world at unprecedented levels.

ALGIM has defined a cybersecurity framework which is powered by SAM for Compliance giving Councils the ability to manage and reduce organisational cybersecurity related risk. As part of the programme, Councils that demonstrate defined levels of achievement and improvement will receive awards at the ALGIM annual conference.

Stay on top of your council's cybersecurity readiness with an easy to use dashboard

Councils participating in the programme will be able to identify whether they are above or below average as compared to their peers. ALGIM will be able to identify areas where Councils are struggling to make headway and offer tailored workshops and training to assist if needed.

The more Councils that participate in the programme, the more effective it will be.

Computer Security Incident Management System

The Computer Security Incident Management System has been developed by SAM for Compliance Ltd to assist local government organisations in establishing computer security incident response capabilities and handling incidents efficiently and effectively.  It has been mainly derived from NIST SP 800-61 and NIST SP 800-61r2 - Computer Security Incident Handling Guide.

The Computer Security Incident Management system is designed to be used as a portal for all incident management resources including site specific contact information, links to system documentation that may be required when handling an incident, and general information on what to do and when to do it.

The Incident Management System includes a Quick Guide, Policy, Plan, Communication Strategy, Incident Response Form for use when managing an incident, a Readiness Checklist, Training scenarios, a Manual all about incident response and management, and Standard Operating Procedures for Incident Identification, Data Breach, Denial of Service, Inappropriate Use, Malicious Code, Ransomware, Unauthorised access, Generic Incident Response. This system fits in nicely with the Respond Function area of the ALGIM Local Government Cybersecurity Programme.

This is offered at special price to Local Authorities and CCOs. Please complete our registration of interest form below and we will be in touch.
